Be very thoughtful of buying a battery powered "generator". It usually can only power applications very short period compared to say gasoline powered one. Here is an ideal estimation:
4 40V 4Ah batteries give a total 640Wh energy. Assuming 0% energy loss during 40V to 110V conversion, it can power a 1000W output for 0.64 hour only.

On the other hand, I previously had a Stanley stud finder and wow, it felt like that was a prank -- it would seriously beep at random and could not reliably identify studs at all.

I have the Franklin M70. It has multiple LEDs so it helps you confirm you are somewhere in the middle of the stud with some width on either side.

THis one is good. It is temperature controlled heating, so avoid overheading or underheating. The old style heater is constant power. You have to intervene when it reaches your target temperature; otherwise, you will heat too much. Attach a power timer (self turn off), it becomes perfect solution for winter.

From my experience these type of digital oil based heaters are not accurate in the temp reading. They are exactly the same as the analog in terms of set temp. The only main difference is you can now have added features such as a timer and a remote which typically aren’t used much anyways since it’s an oil based heater. Either way it’s a decent price for as shipped unit.
